71st National Film Awards: SRK`s unmissable reaction to `King of hearts` title

Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan not only broke box office records, but also marked an important milestone in the actor’s career as she won his first National Award in 30 years. For the award ceremony, the actor reached Delhi along with Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey. Just like always, the actor won hearts with his gesture. He was seen called as the King of hearts at the ceremony, after which he blew kisses, expressing excitement.

During his introductory speech, Jaju gave high regard to Shah Rukh Khan and stated, “And history is made, Shri Shah Rukh Khan ji. The man whose smile has crossed borders, whose dialogues have become our collective vocabulary, received his first National Award. His journey from Delhi theatre to global stardom is a story in itself. ‘Main kaun hu main kya hu (Who am I? What am I?),’ he asked in Jawan. Tonight, the answer is simple. He is not just the National Award winner but he is forever the king of hearts.”

The actor smiled and blew him a kiss as Rani Mukerji smiled next to him. Shah Rukh looked handsome in a black suit and debuted a new salt and pepper look.

For the unversed, Shah Rukh won his first National Award in 30 years for Jawan, which released in 2023, He shared the Best Actor win with Vikrant Massey, who starred in 12th Fail. The Best Actress award was given to Rani Mukerji for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. Monalal will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Gauri Khan celebrates SRK win

Taking to Instagram, Gauri shared a picture of Shah Rukh Khan and wrote, "What a journey it’s been @iamsrk. Congratulations on winning the National Award!!! So deserving… it’s a result of your years of hardwork and dedication. Now I’m designing a special mantle for this award."

Talking about his upcoming films, the actor has collaborated with Siddharth Anand for actioner King. The film also stars Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhay Verma, Abhishek Bachchan and several other actors. He was recently seen in a cameo role in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
