Mumbai: Child dies in a freak accident at Sanjay Gandhi National Park

She was fond of wild animals like tigers and lions. She was looking at various animals in the pictures. So her father took her to Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai during Diwali vacation to show her tigers and lions. She was happy to see the wild animals in the national park. But this happiness was short-lived. She died after being hit by a speeding bike in the national park area. Sujit Kumar Yadav (30), a resident of Airoli in Navi Mumbai, works as a driver. He lives with his wife Rajkumari (30) and two-year-old daughter Manasi.
He supports his family by driving a truck between Mumbai and Rajkot. Sujit Kumar's daughter Mansi wanted to see wild animals. Her parents used to show her various animals like tigers, lions and so on in pictures and on their mobile phones. Sujith Kumar's younger brother Shivam (17) came home on Wednesday for Diwali. So Sujith Kumar thought of showing his daughter wild animals. They decided to go for a walk in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivali. Accordingly, Sujik Kumar took leave from work and reached Borivali with his family.

Sujit Kumar reached Sanjay Gandhi National Park with his family at 2.30 pm. They bought safari tickets. Sujit Kumar, his wife Rajkumari and cousin Shivam were sitting in the shelter around 3 pm.
Mansi was playing on the side of the road where the National Park dam and tiger and lion cages are located. At the same time, a speeding two-wheeler hit Mansi hard. Mansi, who was seriously injured, was rushed to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivali for immediate treatment. She died in the evening during treatment.
Driver absconding, case registered
The bike rider absconded after hitting Mansi. His identity has been confirmed. He lives in Ravanapada in the national park. In this case, Kasturba police have registered a case against the accused driver for causing the death of the girl by negligent driving under sections 125 (A), 281, 106 (1) of the Indian Penal Code, as well as sections 134 (A), 134 (B) and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
