Priya Kapur calls it `hard day` as she misses Sunjay Kapur on her birthday

Priya Kapur was extremely emotional this year on her birthday, which was the first she spent without her late husband, businessman Sunjay Kapur. Priya took to Instagram Stories to post a touching message, describing the day as particularly painful and remembering the man she referred to as the love of her life.

Priya Kapur pens an emotional note

Priya took to her Instagram handle, sharing a screenshot from her previous celebrations with Sunjay Kapur. She penned an emotional long note with it, "When I count my blessings, I count you twice. You are the heart of our family, my best friend, and the most incredible mother to our children. Thank you for filling our lives with your warmth, love, and endless joy. We love you more than words can say. Happiest Birthday to my forever partner. (infinity symbol) PriyaSKJ."

Further in the note, Priya shared how the absence of Sunjay has profoundly affected her. She added, "Today is a hard day for me. I always looked forward to my birthday cards and wishes from you. They were filled with your love, affection and appreciation for me. I cannot celebrate my life when I have lost the love of my life (red heart emoji)!" she wrote.

Despite her anguish, Priya discussed the minor moments that offered her comfort on the day. She explained how her children made her feel connected to Sunjay`s presence even when he wasn`t there.

"But in the smallest moments, I feel you close. Azarias made me a birthday card, and Safira wished me at midnight. That is enough for me. Through the children, I see the same love and appreciation you had for me, and I know you are still here with us," she added.

All about the inheritance case

Sunjay Kapur died while playing polo in London on June 12, 2025. His death rites were held on June 19 at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in South Delhi, accompanied by close family members and friends. 

He was the chairman of Sona Comstar and was previously married to Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children, Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay married Priya after their divorce in 2016, and they had a son named Azarias. Priya`s daughter, Safira, is from her former marriage to hotelier Vikram Chatwal. Legal processes about Sunjay Kapur`s multibillion-dollar assets are currently underway between his children from his marriage to Karisma Kapoor and Priya Kapur.
