CIDCO introduces QR-Based ticketing system in Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1

In a significant step towards implementing a Common Mobility Solution, CIDCO has successfully introduced a paper QR ticket system in Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 on 17 th June 2025. This innovative ticketing solution has been made possible by upgrading the entire Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) ticketing system to cater to the new requirements.This system was inaugurated by Shantanu Goel, Joint Managing Director, CIDCO. Also were present, Santosh Ombhase, SE (Metro) CIDCO, Milind Raorane, GM, CIDCO, Harish Gupta, ED, Maha Metro & other CIDCO officers.The QR-based ticketing system was launched at Belapur Metro station on June 17. This initiative aims to provide a seamless and convenient commuting experience for passengers.Also Read: Central Railway to run 4 trains to/fro Mumbai with revised composition - Details Here To further enhance the commuting experience in future, some more features will be integrated shortly by CIDCO. These features will include Mobile Ticketing App which will allow passengers to purchase tickets. A WhatsApp-Based Ticketing will enable passengers to buy tickets directly through WhatsApp. Also, in future, National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) will provide a unified payment solution for commuters across different transportation systems. These features will be soon available for commuters.The QR-based ticketing system has been designed and commissioned by M/s Aurionpro Solutions Pvt. Ltd, under the supervision of CIDCO & Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. CIDCO is committed to provide a world-class commuting experience for the passengers. The introduction of QR-based ticketing is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
