Sheeba Chaddha shares Salman Khan had `temperamental` behaviour

Actor Sheeba Chaddha, best known for her roles in Badhaai Do and Doctor G, among others, recently opened up about her early days in the film industry. Notably, she made her debut on the big screen with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s acclaimed 1999 film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. During a recent interview, the actress shared a fun anecdote from the sets of the iconic film, recalling her experience working with Salman Khan. She described the actor as being “temperamental” during the shoot of the film, which also starred Salman`s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai.
Sheeba recalls tense incidents on the set
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sheeba revealed Hum Dil De Chuke was the first film she worked on, recalling a vivid picture of the unpredictable atmosphere on set. She shared, "I remember he (Salman Khan) tripped and fell, and he just stormed out of the sets. Unhone darwaza aise pheka (he slammed the door so hard), and there was an old lightman behind the door who got slightly hurt.”
She recalls being startled by the moment, saying, “I was like, baap re, aisa hota hai kya with stars (Oh, my god, does this happen while working with stars)?” She said the moment left her in disbelief at the high-tension environment.
She shared another incident during an important scene in the film involving Aishwarya Rai, Salman, and Sheeba. She shared how a simple creative requirement became a roadblock during the shoot, saying, “He had to hug me, and Salman refused. He said, ‘I won’t hug`." The refusal, she recalls, brought the shoot to a halt temporarily. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to then step in and mediate and convince the actor to continue with the scene as scripted.
Sheeba`s upcoming projects
Sheeba is currently gearing up to be a part of the most anticipated project, Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, Ramayana. She portrays Manthara in the film, which is scheduled to release in two parts. Part 1 is expected to hit the screens on Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
Currently, she is seen in the comedy‑drama web series Bakaiti, directed by Ameet Guptha and streaming on ZEE5. Premiered on 1 August, Sheeba plays a pivotal role in a slice‑of‑life middle‑class family narrative set in Ghaziabad
