Kumar Sanu sends legal notice to ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya

Kumar Sanu has issued a legal notice to his ex-wife Rita Bhattacharya following her severe charges against the singer in a recent interview. Rita accused Sanu and his family of denying her food and other essentials while she was pregnant with their third child.

Sanu delivered the legal notice to Rita through his lawyer, Sana Raees Khan. Sana issued an official statement regarding the legal notice given to Rita Bhattacharya. Her statement read, “For over 40 years, Mr. Kumar Sanu has poured his soul into music, giving joy to millions and earning love and respect across the world. Hurtful lies may create noise for a moment, but they can never erase the legacy of an artist who has given a lifetime of music and memories to generations.”

She went on to add, “We will ensure that malicious attempts to defame him are met with the full force of the law to protect his dignity, legacy and family honour. No individual or media platform has the right to malign a father’s honour or trade his family’s respect for sensationalism.”

Rita Bhattacharya`s allegations

Rita recently made shocking revelations in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. She spoke about the tough time during her third pregnancy, when she was left to care for two young sons while going through divorce proceedings with Sanu. She stated, "He denied them milk. He denied them medical attention. You don`t realise how much this man has tormented my children. The milkman informed me that he had been told not to come over anymore, but that he would still give me milk. Likewise with the doctor who had delivered all three of my sons." She accused Sanu of only providing her with Rs 100 during the divorce procedures. "I sold all of my jewellery. I`ve experienced both the highest and lowest points in my life," she remarked.

She also revealed that Sanu was unconcerned and didn`t bother helping when two of their sons went missing during the Mumbai floods in 2005. She said, “Zico and Jaan had gone missing. I was looking for them all night. It was terrifying. I thought I’d lose them. Even then, that man didn’t ask if his children were okay.”

Kumar Sanu and Rita got married in 1980, before Sanu became a well-known singer. They parted ways in 1994. Kumar Sanu also had an affair with actor Kunickaa Sadanand, but their relationship did not last. He married Saloni Bhattacharya in 2001, and they have two daughters.
