War 2 post-credits scene explained: Bobby Deol preps Alia Bhatt to be Alpha

War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, finally hit the big screens on August 14. The Ayan Mukerji directorial clashed with Rajinikanth’s Coolie at the box office. With a runtime of about 2.5 hours, critics and a section of the audience have expressed disappointment in this latest addition to the YRF Spy Universe. However, it lingers on thanks to its post-credits scene that sets the stage for their next outing, titled Alpha, which stars Alia Bhatt in the lead.

War 2 welcomes Alia Bhatt to the Spy Universe

YRF had announced Alpha way back, and there were rumours of War 2 having a post-credits scene featuring Alia Bhatt. Well, not quite what was promised. The barely 1-minute scene shows Bobby Deol with cropped hair and a salt-and-pepper beard, tattooing the Greek alphabet Alpha on a young Alia Bhatt, played by a child actor. She asks him what it means, and he explains in a Haryanvi accent, hinting that she’s about to assert dominance.

Bobby will play an antagonist in Alpha. It also stars Sharvari. Earlier, mid-day reported that the film has a no-holds-barred set-piece full of blood, gore, and brutality, as Alia and Bobby go at each other with weapons as well as hand-to-hand combat. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is set to hit theatres during the big Christmas holiday weekend in 2025.

Will there be a third installment in the War franchise?

War 2 is loaded with action but lacks a decent plot, which has led to an influx of criticism. Despite high expectations from Ayan, it only gets worse with its mediocre dialogues and flat storytelling. Add a box office clash, and it seems like the film doesn’t have a chance to reign despite two massive stars in it as leads. But will this signal the makers to stop? Highly doubt.

Spoiler alert! As Hrithik and Jr NTR part ways and then reunite to eradicate the enemies of India. Hrithik mentions how there will always be a Tiger, a Pathaan, or a Kabir when India needs saving, suggesting that the Spy Universe will never rest as evil continues to lurk in the shadows.
