Thane Municipal Coorporation employees to receive ex-gratia grant of INR 24500

On the occasion of Diwali this year, the state's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed Municipal Commissioner Saurabh Rao to provide an ex-gratia grant of INR 24,500 to Thane Municipal Corporation employees.

Last year, municipal employees were given a gratuity grant of INR 24,000 on the occasion of Diwali. This year, as per the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an ex-gratia grant of INR 24,500 has been announced for the municipal employees for the year 2025. This ex-gratia grant will be deposited in the employees' accounts immediately.

Ex-gratia grants will be provided to 6059 Thane Municipal Corporation employees, 774 Education Department employees, 1400 permanent Transport Department employees, direct contract employees of the Municipal Corporation and 988 other employees. Due to this decision, Thane Municipal Corporation will have an additional liability of about INR 23 crore for ex-gratia grants.
