Sara Arjun says Dhurandhar 2 will reveal her character`s true strength

Following the historic success of Dhurandhar, debutant Sara Arjun has now opened up about what audiences can expect from the film’s much-anticipated sequel as well as from her character, Yalina, in part 2. Sara, who established herself as a popular child actress and made her debut with Dhurandhar, further hinted that the true potential of her character will be unveiled in part 2.

During an interview with NDTV, Sara shared, “The audiences have high expectations already after part one, but you can just expect a lot more of everything that you loved already in part one, be it action, be it the story, everything. There’s a lot more of all that coming in part two."

For the unversed, Sara plays Yalina Jamali, the daughter of Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali, played by Rakesh Bedi, in the film. Ranveer Singh’s character plots to make her fall in love. Eventually, the two get married.

Further talking about her character in Dhurandhar 2, Sara shared, “I really like how she just thinks with her heart. This is a girl who is very strong, and at the same time, she is so smitten, and she is following her heart. You will see Yalina’s true strength… The actual scope of my character is in part two, mostly… We had a lot of discussion initially, before starting on."

The 20-year-old further added, “We kept throwing ideas on how she would be as a person. We wanted to show that she’s a very happy and bright soul, and then, eventually, the course that follows and her journey through the film, the pain will be more justified later on… In general, Yalina is a bit similar to who I am. So, I held on to those (similarities)… Ideally, all characters should matter to the story and not be just a prop. I look at that as their minimum, to be honest."

Dhurandhar 2 

Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, which hit the screens on December 5, 2025, turned out to be a massive commercial and critical success. It shattered several records and became the biggest movie of 2025. The Ranveer Singh-starrer has reportedly collected a worldwide gross of Rs 1283.5 crore as of Day 45, and Rs 989.9 crore in India. The overseas collection reportedly stands at Rs 293.6 crore.

Naturally, Dhurandhar 2 is already creating a lot of hype ahead of its March 19 release. Notably, the film is set to clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The film marks Yash’s comeback after KGF: Chapter 2. Interestingly, both films are set to release on March 19. Meanwhile, a teaser of Dhurandhar 2 is expected to be attached to Border 2, which releases on January 23, 2026.
