Maratha Reservation: 26 BEST Routes Diverted, Locals Delayed 15–20 Minutes

On Monday, September 1, 26 BEST routes were changed due to the Maratha agitation. This has resulted in a huge increase in travel time. Passengers are facing a lot of problems as the buses are failing to arrive on time.

As the Maratha protesters continue their agitation in the Fort area for the fourth consecutive day, demanding reservation for the Maratha community, the BEST bus routes have been changed. Also, alternative routes have been made available for motorists. However, due to the huge crowd in the CSMT area, all the roads have been blocked by protesters. Due to this, the BEST bus service has been diverted.

BEST buses on the following routes have been diverted due to changes in traffic routes:

  • Bus No. 24, 45, C-10, 86, 305 are now taking the route via Sant Sevalal Chowk – Rambhau Salaskar Marg – MK Marg – Poddar Chowk instead of Jagannath Bhosale Marg.

  • Bus No. 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 51, 25, 45, C-10, 103, 124, 126, 69, 14 will now go via MG Road – Metro – LT Road – Crawford Market Road instead of DN Road.

  • Bus No. 66, 69, 126, 28 will go via MG Road towards Hutatma Chowk instead of Municipal Corporation Road.

  • Bus No. 138, 139, 115 will now go via Shaheed Bhagat Singh Road instead of DN Road.

These changes are temporary and due to traffic regulations in the area.
