Jaya Bachchan angrily pushes man who tried to click selfie with her, watch

Samajwadi MP and actress Jaya Bachchan has once again made headlines for her angry reaction. On Tuesday, Bachchan was seen at the Constitution Club in Delhi with other MPs. In a video now doing the rounds on social media, Jaya can be seen pushing a man who attempted to take a selfie with her without consent. The act left everyone around them shocked.
Jaya Bachchan pushes man
In the clip, Jaya Bachchan is seen standing outside the club, dressed in a red saree, and talking to a man. During the conversation, a second person is seen trying to take a quick selfie with her. The MP immediately pushed the man away and scolded him. “Kya kar rahe hain aap? (What are you doing?) What is this?” she was heard telling the man.
Bachchan’s fellow parliamentarian and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi was also present and turned around to see the source of the commotion after Jaya pushed the man, but later walked into the club.
Netizens react
Soon after the video surfaced on social media, netizens had mixed reactions to the incident. While some condemned Jaya’s behaviour, others felt she was right as the man did not ask for her permission before taking the selfie.
“Something is wrong with her always, we do respect her as an actor,” read one comment.
“This is her repeated behaviour; why are people so eager to take selfies with such characters?” wrote another user.
A person supporting Jaya wrote, “Everyone wants to lecture Jaya Bachchan on what she should do if someone doesn’t seek permission before taking a selfie and invades her personal space. Sorry, but she should be allowed her agency to push people away if she doesn’t want someone being so close to her. This doesn’t stop just because you feel she’s always angry or is in the wrong political party. Maybe she’s always angry because people don’t respect her space. Ever considered that?”
When Jaya snapped at man trying to record her
This is not the first time that Jaya Bachchan has been in the news for snapping at a fan or a paparazzi. Earlier this year, while attending the prayer meet of late Bollywood star Manoj Kumar, the actress was seen getting upset at a man for recording her without permission.
In the video, Jaya Bachchan is seen standing at the venue among other attendees when she feels a tap on her shoulder. She turns around to find an elderly woman dressed in a green saree. The lady’s touch seems to have startled Jaya, who turns back and firmly holds the woman’s hand, pulling it aside. Then, Jaya notices a man—likely the elderly woman’s husband—recording the moment on his phone. Clearly irritated, she says something to him before walking away.
