Global star Priyanka Chopra’s nostalgic post about Kaminey (2009) sparked a heartfelt and playful exchange with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. Taking to Instagram, Priyanka remembered how she was filming Dostana (2008) in Miami when she received an unexpected call from Vishal (Turning point in PeeCee’s career, August 18). “I had wanted to work with him forever and never thought he would cast me because of my ‘commercial’ image at the time,” she wrote. Vishal reposted her note, recalling: “Ask me how much I miss those days. Remember one day, when you got angry, I handwrote a poem on a napkin and sent it to manaoo [pacify] you.” Sharing the poem, he teased her and asked, “Kya ab bhi naraaz ho tum?” To this, Priyanka replied, “Hahaha aapse kaun naraaz reh sakta hai? Aaiye milne.” Priyanka, who called Kaminey a career turning point, also acted in his critically acclaimed film, Saat Khoon Maaf (2011). On the work front, she is now shooting SS Rajamouli’s Globetrotter opposite Mahesh Babu, her first big-screen release in India in six years. Vishal, on the other hand, is making an action thriller with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri.
