Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has finally broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his marriage to wife Sunita Ahuja, claiming that she is being used as part of a “big conspiracy” to damage his image. The actor addressed the issue after Sunita’s recent comments about his alleged multiple affairs sparked fresh speculation about trouble in their marriage.

Govinda said he chose to speak up now because staying quiet often leads to misunderstandings. “What I’ve observed is that when we don’t speak, people either think we are weak or that we are the problem. So today, I’m responding,” he said, adding that people close to him might not even realise they are being pulled into a larger agenda.

The actor suggested that his family members, including Sunita, may be unknowingly caught in this situation. “She can never imagine that she herself has been unknowingly placed in a big conspiracy, with her being thrown into the field as the opening batsman,” Govinda remarked, using a cricket analogy to explain how the focus has suddenly shifted onto his wife.

Govinda also addressed rumours around his professional life and clarified that his reduced presence in films was not because of a lack of work. “I have been disconnected from work for many years. There is no market for my films, and please don’t think I’m crying about it. I’ve rejected many films myself,” he stated, making it clear that his career decisions were intentional.

Speaking about repeated attempts to malign his image, Govinda said that such controversies are common once a person reaches a certain level of fame. He recalled past accusations against him that were eventually proven false and claimed that history is repeating itself.

Despite the tension, the actor expressed hope for peace within his family. “I pray to God that there is no misunderstanding and that I don’t feel suffocated,” he said, hinting at the emotional toll the situation has taken on him.
