Cocktail 2: Kriti Sanon replaces Deepika Padukone in the sequel

Kriti Sanon has added another film to his promising lineup. The actress, who is all set to appear in many interesting films, has now bagged the anticipated film Cocktail 2. The film is a sequel to the 2012 hit film Cocktail, which had Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty in the lead roles. The director of the film recently confirmed that Kriti has been onboarded on the upcoming project.

Acclaimed film director Homi Adajania recently took to Instagram to confirm Kriti`s entry in the much-speculated Cocktail 2. He shared a monochrome picture of Kriti Sanon on his Instagram stories, with a `Work in Progress` sticker placed on her face. He further wrote, “@kritisanon ? #Thescicilianchapter #Cocktail2,” hinting at an intriguing chapter in the beloved franchise. The `Work In Progress` sticker suggested that the actress has already started her prep for the film.

Kriti already has the highly anticipated Tere Ishk Mein, with Dhanush under Aanand L Rai’s direction in the lineup. Adding to the excitement, industry reports also suggest that she has been on board for Don 3, which again is one of the most-awaited films in the action-thriller space.

Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna had reshared Homi Adajania’s post, wherein she was seen hiding her face with a caption reading, ‘Work in progress,’ similar to Kriti Sanon. Reports also claimed that the film stars Shahid Kapoor as the male lead.

Director Homi Adajania is all set to return to the director’s chair with Cocktail 2, which now stars Kriti Sanon, Shahid Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The project is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and penned by Luv Ranjan. The much-awaited sequel is eyeing a theatrical release in the second half of 2026.

Although the makers are keeping story details tightly under wraps, Cocktail 2 marks Kriti and Shahid’s second collaboration with Shahid Kapoor after their hit pairing in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024). Meanwhile, the addition of Rashmika promises to bring fresh energy to the narrative. The audience can look forward to the chemistry between the three.
