Anees Bazmee reveals the real reason behind No Entry 2 getting shelved

Anees Bazmee is one of the most promising directors of Bollywood. After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the actor was expected to work on No Entry 2, featuring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor. The film, however, is on the backburner as Varun and Diljit have left. Anees Bazmee has now opened up about the sequel and revealed plans to resume work on it.

Anees Bazmee on No Entry sequel

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bazmee shared, “We worked very hard for the No Entry sequel. Uss film ke liye ek bahut khoobsurat kahani bhi likhi. However, it is unfortunate that it didn’t get made due to one actor or the other. Last time, we were all set to begin the shoot. All preparations were done, but there was a problem at the eleventh hour. I guess every film has its destiny."

“However, it’s a film close to me and producer Boney Kapoor saab. Whoever has heard its script has told me, ‘Yeh bahut khoobsurat picture hai. Banni chahiye.’ Inshallah, we’ll soon make the film. I am sure people would love it," he added.

When asked if he has any plans of going back to making the sequel after he completes his next film starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan, Bazmee shared, “Yes, I would love to make No Entry 2 after this film. However, I have also planned a couple more films. In fact, the reason there has been a gap after the release of my last film is because I was working on No Entry 2.”

The initial cast line-up had Dhawan, Arjun, and Dosanjh in a triple role that had fans buzzing. “Varun was very excited about No Entry 2,” shares a source close to the production, adding that the changes in dates after Dosanjh’s exit “made things a bit complicated.”

Anees Bazmee`s upcoming film

Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan are confirmed to work together in Anees Bazmee`s next untitled film. The film marks their reunion six years after Mission Mangal.

A source close to the production told mid-day, “It’s a classic Anees Bazmee comedy with fast-paced scenes and confusion born from multiple characters and hilarious situations. The shoot was originally scheduled for February. While other actors, including leading lady Vidya Balan, will join later, the film rolls on January 20 with the superstar.”
