Tentative State-level CET Exam Calendar for 2026–27 Released

A detailed provisional schedule for the Maharashtra Common Entrance Tests for the 2026–27 academic year has been issued by the CET Cell, and a significant restructuring of the examination calendar has been outlined. The announcement has been made earlier than usual so that students across professional and higher education streams may plan their preparation with greater clarity. It was stated in the official note that the dates of national-level examinations such as JEE and NEET had been factored in while preparing the timetable, ensuring that overlapping schedules are avoided.

Under the new framework, a major shift has been introduced through the decision to conduct the MHT CET and the MBA/MMS CET twice a year. This new structure has been positioned as a move aligned with the model followed by JEE Main, where candidates are provided with two opportunities to enhance their performance and secure better prospects for admission. It was also explained that this dual-attempt pattern would allow students greater flexibility, particularly in competitive domains such as engineering, pharmacy and management.

The examination cycle for 2026 has been planned to commence on March 24, when the MAH M.P.Ed CET will be conducted, followed by its field test the next day. Subsequently, examinations such as MEd CET and MHMCT CET will be held on March 25, marking the beginning of a tightly packed examination window. Tests for BEd (General and Special) and BEd ELCT have been scheduled from March 27 to 29, while the LLB 3-year CET has been placed on April 1 and 2. The LLB 5-year CET is planned for May 8, forming part of the final segment of the calendar.

In April, the cycle will move into larger-volume examinations. The B.P.Ed CET will be held on April 4, followed by its field test from April 5 to 7. The MCA CET has been placed on March 30 as part of the early phase. A major highlight of the schedule is the MHT CET, which will be organised in two subject groups: PCM from April 11 to 19, and PCB from April 21 to 26. Tentative dates for the second round have been indicated for May 14 to 17 (PCM) and May 10 to 11 (PCB). Alongside this, the MBA/MMS CET has been planned from April 6 to 8, with its second attempt to follow later in May.

Participation figures from the previous academic cycle have been cited to underline the scale of these examinations. Over 14 lakh students had registered for 17 CETs in 2025–26, and more than 12 lakh had appeared. The PCM and PCB groups alone accounted for nearly 6.5 lakh candidates, with engineering aspirants forming the largest cohort.
