Salman Khan`s bodyguard Shera`s father passes away at 88 due to cancer

Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera is mourning the loss of his father, Sunder Singh Jolly, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 88 after battling cancer. He informed followers via social media about his father’s demise and penned an emotional tribute. He even shared details of his cremation ceremony, which will happen today. To note, the sad news about his father’s demise comes days after his birthday celebration.

“My father Shri Sunder Singh Jolly has left for heavenly abode today," he wrote in a brief yet emotional note. The funeral procession was scheduled to begin at 4 PM from Shera’s residence at 1902, The Park Luxury Residences, Off Lokhandwala Back Road, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai.
Just four months ago, Shera had posted a heartfelt birthday message for his father’s 88th birthday. Alongside a series of photos, he wrote, “Happy 88th birthday to the strongest man my God my father, my inspiration! Every bit of strength in me comes from you. Love you dad always!"
Who is Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera?
Shera has been hired as Salman Khan`s personal bodyguard and head of security since 1995. They first met when he was handling security for Keanu Reeves during his Mumbai visit in the 1990s. It was at a private party for Keanu that Shera met Salman Khan. It is said that the actor was mighty impressed by his physique, his discipline and his professionalism.
His real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly. He runs a security firm called Tiger Security, which has been responsible for providing security cover for many celebrities over the years. Shera was in charge of Justin Bieber`s security during his Mumbai concert in 2017. Shera has also won the Mr. Mumbai Junior Title. In 1988, he was the runner-up in the Mr. Maharashtra Junior Title.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is all set to feature in Apoorva Lakhia’s war drama Battle of Galwan. The film has gone on floor and is scheduled for 2026 release. The first look is out and it shows Khan covered in blood. The flick is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh. It also stars Chitrangda Singh in lead role.
