Javed Ali responds to FWICE, says he is not performing with any Pakistani artist

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a letter to singer Javed Ali to remind him that his participation in Dubai Opera on August 31 is in violation to the directive issued by the government and the organisation on not collaborating with any Pakistani artist. The letter mentioned that the concert where Javed Ali is set to perform will also have a performance by Pakistani artist Ustad Ghulam Ali and Aamir Ghulam Ali. Now, Javed Ali has reacted to the letter sent to him where he clarified that he will not be collaborating with any Pakistani artists.
Javed Ali responds to FWICE
In the letter addressed to FWICE, Jave Ali wrote, "I would like to express my respect for the sentiments and concerns raised by the Federation. However, I believe there has been a misunderstanding regarding the nature of the event in question."
He went on to explain that he will not be sharing stage with any other artist during the ticketed concert. "I am not performing with Ustad Ghulam Ali Khan Saab or any other Pakistani artist. This is not a collaborative performance, nor am I sharing the stage with them. The performance is a ticketed gazal and sufi concert, a multi-artist event organized in another country, featuring a variety of performers from different nations. Each artist is scheduled to perform separately, and there is no artistic or professional association between us in this context."
Javed Ali withdraws from event
However, the singer said that he has withdrawn from the event and will no longer be performing. He also added that the FWICE had understood the nature of the event before sending the letter. "That said, in light of your communication and the gravity with which this issue has been presented, I have decided to withdraw from the concert. However, I do feel that a more thorough understanding of the event`s format and facts would have helped avoid assumptions about my intentions. As an artist and a proud Indian, I have always upheld national values and will continue to do so I hope this clarification helps address your concerns," he said.
Kartik Aaryan`s reaction to FWICE warning
Earlier, actor Kartik Aaryan had also received a letter from FWICE warning him of his participation in an Independence Day event in USA. The viral promotional posters claimed that the event was sponsored by a Pakistani organisation.
However, Kartik`s team denied his involvement in the event. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor’s team shared a statement which read, “Kartik Aaryan is not associated with this event in any capacity. He has never made an official announcement about participating in this event. We have contacted the organizers and requested to remove all promotional materials featuring his name and image."
