‘It’s because of steroids for migraines’: Aamir Khan clarifies weight gain

Aamir Khan recently participated in the fourth season of Ajivasan Act in Mumbai. Several photographs and videos of the actor during the event have gone viral on social media. While his singing prowess stole many hearts, his unexpected weight gain drew a lot of attention. Aamir attended the occasion with a patterned blue kurta and trousers. A video of Aamir on stage was reshared on a Reddit sub, and admirers expressed concern about him. In a recent interview, he confessed that the weight gain is due to his `steroid treatment` for `migraines`.

In the post`s comments section, a concerned admirer commented, "It`s unfortunate because the Khans are pretty old now, and these will just multiply with time. Hopefully, his health difficulties are not serious. "This occurs to a lot of us, and it`s especially challenging when the medication is necessary but the side effects are severe. And now that he`s over 60, it`s even more difficult to deal with," another person said. "He does not need to explain his weight gain. Amir, SRK, Salman, and Akshay are all around the age of 60; we should give them a break, stop body shaming them, and allow them to live and relax. "They earned it," one response said.

Many people assumed that the actor had bulked up for his next movie, a biopic about Dadasaheb Phalke. However, he told Deccan Chronicle the real reason behind his weight gain. "I`ve had migraines for a while and require steroid medication. That causes me to gain weight; I can`t help it. In fact, I`ve begun my diet and gym routine because I need to get back in shape for whatever my next feature is," he explained.

When Aamir was asked whether his condition has been treated, he said, “No, because they’re not able to figure out why it’s happening. The steroid is taking the headaches away. But I can’t keep taking steroids. Sometimes, you know, it’s difficult to diagnose exactly why things are happening. I understand it’s complicated.”

On the work front

Aamir Khan`s most recent film role was in RS Prasanna`s Sitaare Zameen Par. It was a spiritual sequel to his 2007 picture, Taare Zameen Par. Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar made their debuts in the film, as did Genelia D`Souza. The actor also made a cameo appearance in Lokesh Kanagaraj`s Coolie. It also features Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Rachita Ram.
