Shootout in Bareilly
Two unidentified men on a motorbike opened fire outside the Bareilly residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani early on Friday morning, police confirmed to PTI. According to the report, the attackers fired two rounds before fleeing, with the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang later claiming responsibility, citing alleged disrespect towards “spiritual figures.” At the time, Disha’s parents — retired DSP Jagdish Patani and Padma Patani — and her sister Khushboo, a former army officer, were at home. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, as Disha herself was in Mumbai. Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya said the case has been handed to the crime branch. “CCTV footage is being examined, five teams have been formed, and the family is under full protection,” he noted, adding that alerts have been issued against Goldy’s network.
