Dil Raju denies collaboration with Salman Khan, confirms film with Akshay Kumar

A few days back, reports were rife that Salman Khan is in advanced talks with South director Vamsi Paidipally and producer Dil Raju for a big masala movie. The news got fans and media alike excited. However, Raju has now stepped in and set the record straight. In an official statement, his team clarified that they are developing a project with Akshay Kumar and requested the media to refrain from spreading misinformation.

In their statement, Dil Raju’s team said, “In light of recent rumours and ongoing speculation surrounding the upcoming projects of Producer Dil Raju and Sri Venkateswara Creations, we wish to clarify that these reports are entirely baseless and have been blown out of proportion. Several outdated speculations are being linked to current developments, which is inaccurate."

They added, “We are presently developing a project with Akshay Kumar that will be directed by Anees Bazmee. The film is currently in the pre-production stage, and we will share official details in due course."

The team also requested media outlets to avoid spreading unconfirmed information: “We humbly request members of the media to refrain from drawing conclusions or circulating speculative information without confirmation from our end."

Reports suggest that the project is a Hindi remake of the Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film revolves around former IPS officer YD Raju`s investigation into a high-profile kidnapping case. However, there is still no confirmation on whether the movie is indeed an adaptation of the cult classic.

According to a Pinkvilla report, "Akshay has multiple films lined up, including Haiwaan, Bhagam Bhaag 2, Welcome To The Jungle, and Hera Pheri 3, along with a couple of other projects that are being kept under wraps. He had seen the Venkatesh film a while back as a cinema lover, but he’s not doing the Hindi remake. In fact, he has been meeting Anees Bazmee for another collaboration."

Salman Khan’s upcoming movie

In September, Salman Khan kicked off the shoot of his ambitious war drama, Battle of Galwan, in Ladakh. The film will chronicle the India-China military clash that took place in June 2020, with Khan stepping into the role of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu. It also stars Chitrangda Singh in the lead role.
