Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar to replace Salman Khan on Weekend Ka Vaar

Bigg Boss and Salman Khan are two names that have gone hand in hand for several years now. The superstar’s presence has become an inseparable part of the show`s identity. He has hosted the reality show for 15 consecutive years now and has shaped Weekend Ka Vaar into an unmissable spectacle. However, this weekend, the viewers will not get to see Salman, and instead, there is a surprising twist in store as two popular Bollywood stars, Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, take over.

Arshad-Akshay to replace Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 19 Weekend Ka Vaar

According to India Today, in the upcoming Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 19, Arshad Warsi will return to host Bigg Boss after nearly 18 years. For the unversed, Arshad was the very first face of Bigg Boss when he hosted its debut season in 2006. This time around, he will be joined by his Jolly LLB 3 co-star Akshay Kumar.

The duo is expected to add their signature humour to the show together, while also shaking things up inside the house with new segments and light-hearted banter. Fans will certainly miss Salman`s hosting style. It will be interesting to see how Arshad and Akshay handle the contestants.

Salman Khan`s association with Bigg Boss began in Season 4 and has ever since grown into becoming the longest association for any host in the show`s history. Over the years, Salman has become the face of the franchise, popular for his sharp reprimands, witty interactions, and occasional soft-hearted gestures toward the housemates.

This season too, Salman has been engaging with contestants and even calling out inappropriate behaviour. In last week’s Weekend Ka Vaar, he called out Amaal Mallik for using abusive language and urged Gaurav Khanna to participate more actively in the game.

Why the change?

The change is because Salman Khan is currently in Ladakh shooting for his upcoming film, Battle of Galwan. Given his packed schedule and prior commitment, he is likely to miss this week`s shoot, making way for Arshad and Akshay to step into the host’s role.

Meanwhile, Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar are currently busy promoting their upcoming film Jolly LLB 3. The much-awaited trailer of the courtroom comedy has been creating a lot of buzz and intrigue. The film is slated to hit the screens on September 19.
