Why did Aamir Khan return to the Lagaan village in Bhuj after 25 years?

Aamir Khan delivered a heartwarming family entertainer filled with love, laughter, and happiness with Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual sequel to the 2007 superhit Taare Zameen Par. The film touched the hearts of the audience and garnered tremendous love from all across the country. Now, the superstar has taken the film to the village where one of his blockbusters and Oscar nominated film, Lagaan, was shot, Bhuj, for a special screening.

After 25 years, Aamir Khan returned to the village where Lagaan was filmed. A special screening of the film was held for the villagers. As Aamir visited the place after a long time, it was indeed a nostalgic trip down memory lane for him. He met the people of Kotey, who had helped build the village during the shoot. He was seen warmly hugging an old friend from Kotey village, Dana Bhai.

Aamir expresses gratitude on return after 25 years

While addressing about the same, Aamir Khan said, "I am very happy that I have come to Kutch. 25 years ago, we made Lagaan. I have a lot of old memories. I have come to Kotaya village, Danabhai`s village. All the actors in Lagaan were from Dhanabai`s village. They were also from Bhuj.

The whole team of Danabhai was from this village.

I think this is the first screening in Kote village, Danabhai. This is the first screening. Yes, the first. For the first time in history, a film will be shown here in the village. So this is also a very historic day. This film that we have tried to put on YouTube, people from village to village can watch the film together. And I am very happy that we have started from here, from Kutch and from the village of Lagaan. Thank you."
