Manoj Jarange Maratha Quota protest: Mumbai Traffic Police Issues Restrictions, Beefs UP Security - Details Here

The Mumbai Traffic Police have announced several restrictions on the vehicular movement in the city as Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange prepares to launch an indefinite fast and rally at Azad Maidan.

In addition to this, security has been beefed up with over 1,500 police personnel and multiple central forces being deployed to manage the anticipated large turnout and maintain law and order.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Satya Narayan, along with other senior officers, visited Azad Maidan on Thursday evening, August 28, to review security arrangements and assess the situation.

The following changes, which has been implemented from 00:00, have been made to ensure smooth traffic management. This order will be in force until further orders.

Roads closed for traffic and No parking zones:

1) All types of vehicles going from V. N. Purva Road to Pancharpol Fiveway via South Bond.

2) All types of vehicles going from Deonar Farm to Panjarpol road are prohibited.

3) Restrictions on all types of vehicles going from Trombay Chita Camp to Fivela and Panjarpol via V. N. Purva Marga

4) Complete restriction on all vehicles coming from Mankhurd Traffic Division limits towards Panjarpol via Sion Panvel route

5) All vehicles coming from C.G. Gidwani North Channel towards Panjarpol

6) All vehicles descending from the eastern freeway north channel at Panjarpol Junction

7) Vehicles coming on the southern channel on the eastbound freeway from IOC Junction and Govandi Railway Bridge

8) Vehicles going east from Panjarpol Junction on Vaman Tukaram Patil Road to the free North Channel Road

Alternative way :

1) All types of vehicles coming from V.N. Purakh Marg South Channel towards Panjarpol and East Freeway will have to take a right turn from Punjabwadi Junction and proceed from Hemant Karkare Gas Pump towards Govandi Station, then take a left turn from Gaondevi Chowk, right turn from Neelam Junction, then from Mankhurd Traffic Division boundary, I. O. C. Junction and then take a left turn and enter Mumbai city.

2) All types of vehicles going towards Panjarpol via Deonar Farm Road should proceed straight from Punjabwadi Junction, from Hemant Karkare Gas Pump towards Govandi Station, turn left from Gaondevi Chowk, turn right at Neelam Junction.

From the Mankhurd Traffic Division boundary, take a left turn at IOC Junction and enter Mumbai city.

3) All types of vehicles going from Trombay Chita Camp to Phiyela and Panjarpol via V. N. Pushk Marga will take a right turn from R. K. Chowk and take a left turn from Sion Panvel Marg North Channel to Mankhurd Railway Bridge T Junction and enter Mumbai city via Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road via Chhedanagar Marg.

4) All vehicles coming from C.G. Gidwani North Channel towards Panjarpol will take a left turn from Golf Club, go straight from Chimani Garden, take a right turn from Diamond Garden, take Sion Trombay Marg North Channel, then from Panjarpol Junction, take a left turn on Daman Tukaram Patil Road, then from Mankhurd Traffic Division boundary, take a right turn at IOC Junction Yeshun, go towards Navi Mumbai via Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road.

5) From the eastern freeway north channel, after Panjarpol Tunnel, all types of vehicles will proceed towards Navi Mumbai by taking a right turn from Panjarpol Flyover and then from I, O.C. Junction.

6) Get down from Govandi Railway Bridge and take a right turn at Nilag Junction and continue along N.G. Acharya Road to Subhashnagar, Chembur Station and go towards Mumbai or elsewhere.

7) All vehicles going from Vaman Tukaram Patil Marg towards East Mukt Uttar Vahini will take a right turn from Panjarpol Junction and proceed towards Mumbai via Maitri Park Sion Trombay Road.

Road Closure:

1) All types of vehicles going towards Pancharpol-Five on the South Bond from Vashi are closed.

2) All types of vehicles going from Veer Jijabai Bhosale Road to Trombay are closed.

3) All types of vehicles going from Chhedanagar to Fivela are restricted.

Alternative way :

1) All types of vehicles coming from Vashi will enter Mumbai city via South Bond, Mankhurd T Junction, Bridge Slip Road, Veer Jijabai Bhosale Road, IOC Junction and Chhedanagar Road.

2) All types of vehicles going to Trombay and Five via Ghatkopar Mankhurd Link Road will enter Mumbai city via Chhedanagar route.

3) All types of vehicles going from Chhedanagar to Fivell will take a right turn and enter Mumbai city via Amarmahal, Nehrunagar Bridge, Sumannagar Junction to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road.
