Kareena Kapoor, Prithviraj begin shoot for Meghna Gulzar`s film Daayra

The upcoming film Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Junglee Pictures & Pen Studios, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has gone on floors.  The much-anticipated crime drama Daayra has officially commenced shoot on Thursday, September 25. Directed by Meghna Gulzar and jointly produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, the film brings together two of Indian cinema’s most compelling performers, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, in roles that promise intensity, depth, and intrigue. 

Daayra makers give BTS glimpse

Early behind-the-scenes glimpses have already set the tone- charged with raw energy and riveting performances, they hint at a story that is as gripping as it is hard-hitting. Prithviraj Sukumaran looks intense as a police inspector while Kareena Kapoor Khan looks fierce, adding to the film’s captivating appeal.  The BTS visual also sees legendary lyricist Gulzar gracing the sets of his daughter`s film. In the clip, Gulzar can be seen making Prithviraj and others on set laugh with his wit. 

Kareena starts 68th film

Kareena took to Instagram, where she shared a video from the script-reading of the upcoming film. The clip also featured photoshoots of the two actors.

“Day 1 68th film Daayra with the most amazing meghnagulzar and therealprithvi … Send love and blessings,” Kareena wrote.

Earlier this year, Kareena had spoken about the film and said: “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I`m thrilled to announce my next film, Daayra, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar in the director’s chair. I`ve long admired her work, from Talvar to Raazi, and to be directed by her is a dream come true.”

She said that the opportunity to collaborate with the talented Prithviraj is also a highlight.

“And I`m drawn to the film`s bold, thought-provoking narrative. Daayra promises to be a cinematic experience that challenges and inspires, and I look forward to working with Meghna, Prithviraj, and the team at Junglee Pictures on this powerful, timely film.”
