Caught on Camera! Sweeper in Virar Sneaks Into Flat, Steals Phone but Returns Later

A woman sweeper on routine garbage collection duty at a residential society in Virar was caught on CCTV attempting to steal a mobile phone. The incident took place at Yogiraj Cooperative Housing Society in Virar West, on the outskirts of Mumbai. The footage has since gone viral on social media.
The video shows the woman ringing doorbells and collecting trash from apartments on one floor. When one resident left the door open after handing over a garbage bag, she looked to see if anyone was watching and then went inside the flat. She quickly picked up a mobile phone kept inside and walked out, blending the act with her daily routine.
She then continued to wander on the floor, even taking items from the same apartment she had entered. Acting casually, she made her way towards the stairs as if leaving after her work. However, while walking out, she noticed a CCTV camera in the hallway. She appeared startled as soon as she realised her actions had been recorded.
Immediately, she changed her behaviour and rushed back to the apartment. She rang the bell and returned the phone to the resident when she opened the door. The woman claimed she had found the phone lying outside and was only returning it. She did not apologise for her earlier act.
The footage has sparked strong reactions online. Many users have expressed anger and demanded her arrest. Several pointed out that she chose to return the phone only after spotting the camera. The exact time and date of the incident remain unconfirmed.
